Frequently Asked Questions for Crop N Time Scrapbook Events

ü  How do I register for the event? Go to our registration page and either print out the registration form and mail with payment, or click on the “Buy Now” button and register online through paypal or with your credit card.

ü What time can I arrive?  The events start at 9:00am. You are welcome to start unloading and bringing in your supplies starting at 8:45 am.

ü Will there be Make and Take classes?  Absolutely! Each scrapbook consultant has been asked to provide a free class at each crop. Each class you attend will get you raffle tickets to use for the prizes at that day’s crop.

ü Will there be food and beverages? We provide a wonderful buffet meal prepared by ourselves for dinner. There will be water, coffee, tea and soda provided throughout the day along with some snacks. Feel free to bring your own snacks if you have a particular craving while scrapping. J We do suggest that if you bring a beverage, please have a covered mug/container to drink from as this helps keep everyone’s papers, embellishments and photos safe from spills. ** In order to keep our registration fee down, we ask that you bring your own lunch or you can order from the various take out menu’s we have on hand. There is a microwave available to heat up your food and a refrigerator if needed as well

ü Will there be a journaling station and tools to use? Absolutely! There will be a computer station set up with printer to use for typed journaling. We also have a Cricut Expression available to use with a variety of cartridges…..all you need is your own 12 x 12 mat. There is also a Sizzix Big Shot machine available for use with a variety of dies ans embossing folders.

ü  Can I sit with my friends? Of course! When you register, please list the persons you would like to sit with that are also attending the crop. The tables are set up in groups of 4 for maximum creativity sharing.

ü  Can I come just to shop or see what the crop is like? Yes, we’d love to have you stop by and see what we are all about. Please try to stay no longer than an hour since you are just visiting the event. Our vendors will have some cash and carry items with them, but they won’t be bringing everything. So if there is something special you need, don’t wait until crop day to purchase it. Our vendors are listed on the “Team” page and you can shop with them prior to the event to make sure you have all your supplies by crop day. There is an additional charge for their products so plan accordingly.

ü  What is your cancellation policy? If you are unable to attend, please let us know. We do not offer a refund, but our willing to roll your registration over to the next event due to unforeseen circumstances. You are also welcome to “sell” your spot to someone else who may be waiting to attend.

ü  Is there a minimum age requirement to attend? Yes, we request that you must be at least 15 years of age to attend.

ü  What happens if my check bounces? You are responsible for any bank fees that Crop n Time incurs from insufficient funds.

ü  Can I bring music with me to listen while I crop? Sure can, we just ask that you bring your own headphones/iPod so as not to distract other croppers. But we will have music playing in the overhead speakers for all to enjoy.

ü  Can I register at the door the day of the event? If there are crop registrations available after all the pre-registrations are processed, you can certainly register at the door.

ü  Will there be prizes? Will there be prizes?!?!? Of course there will be! There will be Raffle baskets donated by each of our vendors and a Grand Prize basket. You can earn raffle tickets during the crop for more chances to win, (attend make n take classes, purchase supplies from our vendors, create pages using our challenges or page maps in the newsletters and whatever else we think up for more chances) We tend to be generous with these and we love to make you all happy while you are spending the day with us!

ü  I’ve never been to a scrapbook event before – what should I bring? Well first off – congrats! You are going to love a day of scrapbooking with friends and crafting! Check out our packing and organizing tips below for more ideas, but don’t forget the basics like paper trimmers, photos, paper, adhesives and scissors.

Packing and Organizing Tips

These are a few tips on what to bring to make your Crop n Time Scrapbook Event a fun, relaxing experience. Scroll down to share our "power scrapping" tips so you can pack your scrapbook supplies more efficiently and complete a lot of great layouts during your day.

Ø  Print out your photos the week before the crop and pre-organize your layouts so you can complete more pages.

Ø  Comfy clothes – We plan on being comfortable and want you to be relaxed as well. Wear your comfy clothes and footwear. Slippers can be a great way to keep those toes warm and stay comfy at the same time. *Please note that some croppers will always be cold and some will always be warm, so dress in layers to anticipate the crop room temperature.

Ø  Portable shelf to make the most of your crop space. Stackable cooling racks from Wal-Mart or Pampered Chef are great for this.

Ø  Seat Cushion – the chairs in the crop room can get hard for some after a few hours.

Ø  Camera – take pictures of your friends enjoying the day and their layouts. There is no bigger compliment than having your layouts “scraplifted”!

Ø  Cash/checkbook/credit cards to shop with our vendors and register for our next crop event at a special crop day price.

Ø  Drink holder to keep your beverage safe from spilling on your album pages or gasp! your neighbors pages.

Ø  If you are coming with friends, coordinate what tools to bring. We will also have a tool Station set up with Cricuts and a Big Shot, so if you have a particular cartridge or die you want, you can bring those without having to lug the whole machine.

Ø  Baby wipes – makes cleaning up quick and easy.

Ø  Extra trimmer blades, adhesive, cardstock and page protectors.

Ø  If you really have a hard time deciding what to bring to a crop, pick out your favorite patterned papers, cardstock and embellishments. Gather items in your current favorite color, or from your favorite manufacturer. Having your favorite items will help inspire your creativity.

Ø  When working on a layout or project at a crop, keep a pen and sticky notes handy. If you feel like you are missing an item or something that you know you have at home, write it on the sticky note and put it in the place of the missing item. Then you can continue to work without having to worry about forgetting that finishing touch.

Power Scrappin’ Tips

Take the time to PREPLAN your pages at home so you can get more pages done on crop day. How many times have you gone to a crop and spent half the time staring at your pictures trying to come up with the perfect layout? Here are some tips to help in your planning…

v  Purchase 2 gallon freezer bags – 12 x 12 paper will fit nicely in these.

v  Sort all the pictures you might want to scrap at the crop and make notes of any journaling you might want to include.

v  Check out all the great scrapbook websites and don’t be afraid to “scraplift”. While it’s nice to come up with an original idea, it is a huge timesaver to work from a sketch in a magazine, online website or your neighbor page from a previous crop.

v  In each freezer bag, put the pictures and sketch for the layout you want to complete. Pull any paper or supplies for that page and put them in the bag. A specific template or tool, stickers, embellishment and other memorabilia you want to use on that layout.

v  You can even take those pre-planned bags with you to the store to pick out just what you need to finish each layout. Purchase items and place right in your “layout” bags. Now you have everything you need to complete that layout all in one place.

v  Always pack extra neutral papers, tags, ribbons, embellishments, etc... to have on hand for those moments when your page needs that little something extra.

v  Rather than taking the time to preplan lots of layouts, why not plan to make cards? Planning one design idea for a card that you can replicate many times is also a great idea. It’s easier to plan for a few cards ideas than an intense layout.

The most important thing is to remember is to relax and have fun!!! This is your day away of course, so structure it to how YOU want and the rest will fall into place.
